What is a Grade 3 Ballast IBC?

This is an IBC which is not suitable to be reconditioned due to cosmetic damage to the frame/cage and inner bottle. As this IBC has not been through any reconditioning process, they may not have been cleaned internally or externally, therefore the previous contents will be unknown and there may be some residual contents in the IBC. The frame may have some rust and the bottle may be discoloured.

Grade 3 IBCs will hold water and are therefore ideal for providing ballast where the main purpose of the IBC is to provide weight rather than a water/liquid storage solution.

Ideal for use as a marquee weight. Each IBC will provide up to 1 tonne of weight when filled with water, therefore, providing a more flexible alternative to concrete block weights. When erecting a marquee on a hard surface, such as tarmac or concrete where stakes cannot be used, marquee weights are required to act as a secure anchoring point.

What is an IBC?

Intermediate bulk containers (IBC) are reusable industrial containers, which are designed for the safe transportation and storage of bulk liquids. They are stackable containers, mounted on a pallet that is designed to be moved using a forklift or pallet jack. The maximum stacking of empty IBCs is four containers high. When full only two can be stacked.

The tubular galvanised steel frame around the container guarantees utmost stability. This also fits perfectly into the grooves of a plastic pallet; both below and above the container which enables an exact positioning and problem-free stacking.

Please Note: The image is used for illustration purposes only – the look of the IBC supplied may vary slightly whilst dimensions remain the same. This is due to suppliers reconditioning numerous containers from different manufacturers so may differ in appearance.
