For holding large amounts of fish for aquaculture, farming and breeding, our galvanised steel water tanks are the most cost-effective option available. The steel construction of the tank walls make them highly durable and long-lasting. They are extra thick, meaning they can withstand the extremes of UK weather. If you plan to install the tank in a particularly harsh environment, then please don’t hesitate to contact us to discuss this. The tank is powder coated blue (RAL5010) as standard, but other colours are available on request.
The tank is simply an outer wall made up of curved steel panels, with a watertight liner inserted. The liner is made from non-toxic PVC.
A 2" PVC outlet and gate valve is supplied as standard, which can be used to drain the tank. We also offer 2 additional outlet / inlet fittings – please contact us with the required location of these fittings.
Base
We highly recommended that steel water tanks are sited on a concrete base. The concrete should be a minimum of 100mm thickness, and the concrete should be type C35 300kg/m³. For this 6.5 metre diameter tank, a concrete base 7 metres in width is recommended.
Extras
On large scale commercial fish farms, a central bottom drain may be required. We can supply the liner with a drain hole and pipe sleeve fitted to accommodate this. We can also supply ladders, catwalks, pipes and roofs. Please contact us with your requirements and we will be happy to quote.
We currently don't supply filters or pumps.
Installation service
This tank is designed and packed in a way that two competent people can install it, and assembly instructions are provided. We can offer an installation service for this tank. The cost varies based on tank size, location and other details. Please provide us with as much information as possible and we can provide a quotation.
Delivery information
This tank will be delivered disassembled and loaded onto pallets, so offloading equipment will be required. Adequate access is also required for the delivery vehicle. Please contact us if either are unavailable.
